EscapePod 354: The Caretaker

This has nothing to do with comedy nor rap but this week's episode of EscapePod was narrated by me! EscapePod is a weekly science fiction magazine which publishes both the text and audio online as a podcast.

The Caretaker by Ken Liu is a short story about a 60 year old stroke victim who has to get a live-in robot companion when his children can no longer afford to take time off to care for him. The prospect of spending the rest of his life mostly alone, with only the robot for companionship, terrifies him. But he finds he is bonding in an interesting way with it. It's a great story that touches on several social issues in a great way.
